After 9/11

After 9-11, many Muslims, particularly in the U.S. were demonized. While traveling in Egypt, I found that the average Muslim woman was a blend of traditional garb and current fashion. The women were not only influenced by their religious traditions, but also by the media. In this series, I capture the duality of these women’s lives by combining their photos with fashion logos from surrounding billboards.
